The All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded another significant political breakthrough in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, following the successful hosting of a Grand Reception Rally that brought together top government officials, party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from various parts of the state.
The event, organized by the family of the late Alhaji Sale Anur (Gabasawa), witnessed the formal defection of a large number of members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, a development that has further strengthened the party’s grassroots base in Sabon Gari.
The Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government, Honorable Sheikh Jamilu Abubakar Albani of Samaru, Zaria, led party leaders in receiving the defectors. He described the mass defection as a clear indication of confidence in the leadership and development-oriented policies of Governor Uba Sani’s administration in Kaduna State.
The rally was held under the leadership and vision of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, the Governor of Kaduna State. Several speakers emphasized that his people-centered policies and inclusive governance style are responsible for the growing acceptance of the APC across Kaduna State.
Also in attendance was Honorable Muhammad Garba Datti Babawo, the APC Deputy Chairman for the North-West Zone, who commended the party’s leadership in Kaduna State and particularly in Sabon Gari. He stated that the large-scale defection signifies renewed confidence in the APC under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani. He also gave the people of Sabon Gari Local Government the assurance that the main Sabon Gari township stadium, which was sold by a former local government chairman, would be recovered.
Furthermore, he strongly warned those involved in corrupt practices across the local government area.
Among the dignitaries present were Rt. Honorable Aminu Abdullahi Shagali, Kaduna State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development; Honorable Nasir Idris, Member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Sabon Gari Constituency; and Hon. Malam Sani Basawa, representing Basawa Constituency. Others included the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Abdulkareem Kamilu; Honorable Umar Uba Maichitta; Honorable Abubakar Umar Yariman Bomo; as well as top APC stalwarts, party executives, ward leaders, and supporters.
Speakers representing the Gabasawa family, including Malam Muhammad Ibrahim (Ba tsoro) and his brothers, stressed the importance of unity, fairness within the party, and strengthening grassroots political awareness to sustain the APC’s growing popularity. They reaffirmed their total support for Governor Uba Sani’s development vision and the consolidation of the APC at all levels.
