New Year Message: AFAN President Says Nigerians Put A Lot Of Expectations,  Determination From Govt And Farmers

As we have stepped into a year 2026, with a lot of hope, zeal, expectations and determined-enthusiasms from the government and Nigerian farmers. 

The National President, All farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Hon. Muhammad Magaji Gettado who stated this in his New Year message to Nigerians particularly the farmers.

He said the manifestation of the various economic challenges should be a wake-up call to all Nigerians instead of a recipe for complacency and unjustifiable blame-game!

The President said to restore Nigeria's glory and dignity we need to roll up our sleeves and embark on sustainable innovation and serious knowledge-driven Agricultural Production, Processing including invaluable value addition.

According to him, all stakeholders in the agriculture space should be trained to recognises that Agricultural productivity is the only option for collaboration and partnership because the vital interest is National prosperity above all else.

"It is always exciting to me to talk of Nigeria's immense potential in Agriculture capable of making it prosperous in Africa and the world at large through the effort of SHFs (Small Holders Farmers) when they are properly and transparently  empowered through focused and sustained action by governments at National, State and Local government level".

Hon. Magaji Gettado urged all  peasants farmers of our country not to relent in their efforts to make Nigeria food secure amidst the vicissitudes on their paths and, as well call on all stakeholders including governments at all levels to remain resolute focused and stoic in the effort to be sustainable through hard-work and to leverage on the legendary resilience of our SHFs in order to attain Food Security in our Nation.

He noted that the new leadership of AFAN remain committed to strengthening food Security, supporting out farmers and advancing Agricultural development for the benefit of our Nation.
